The Broad - Contemporary Art

A Building, Contemporary Art

Look beyond the art and see what truly makes a visit to The Broad meaningful: the people. To me there's no better example in the US of an organization doing everything it can to promote contemporary art. This is more than just a museum, housed in the core of the structure is vast collection of art stored in a specialized inner building called "The Vault."

While often busy, the free cost of admission makes this attraction worth the trouble. There are two ways to visit: a scheduled time, and standby. I've done both, and can honestly say scheduling a time weeks in advance can be tedious, but it's worth the extra effort. Standby times aren't bad early, but in the summers especially waiting outside for 1-2 hours can be laborious.
